Who I Am

My Story

Hi, I’m Tarissa.

I’m a mother of three, including a set of twins who made me a mom. My first birth didn’t go as I had planned - I had hoped for a home birth with a midwife, but due to complications, I had a scheduled cesarean.

After my girls were born, I began researching VBAC and what birth could look like with the right support. That journey led me to a very different second experience - a home birth supported by a midwife and an incredible doula who ultimately inspired me to step into this work myself.

Because of my own experiences, I care deeply about how women feel during birth. I know what it’s like to navigate unexpected outcomes, and I know the difference the right support can make.

My approach is hands-on, attentive, and centered on you. Whether that means steady physical support during contractions, creating a calm and grounded environment, or simply being a consistent presence so you never feel alone - I’m there for you.

I also support your partner, so they can rest, reset, and be fully present when it matters most.

Birth is a life-changing moment. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and confident in it.

If you’re still exploring whether a doula is right for you, I’d love to connect and answer any questions you have.

Mission

My heart behind this work is simple:

I want every mother to feel seen, heard, and supported in her birth.

Because when a woman feels respected in her choices and cared for throughout her experience, it changes everything. Even when birth doesn’t go exactly as planned, it can still be something she looks back on with peace, strength, and even joy.

That is what I advocate for as your doula - your voice, your experience, and your support every step of the way.

Tarissa was one of the best parts about my birth. Because of her help, I was able to labor to 10 cm at home. She was so supportive of my husbands coaching and help both of us feel more confident and safe. The whole time I felt her gentle touch on my back and her timely words of encouragement. She was there to lean onto on the way to the car and she picked us up when we went to the wrong entrance at the hospital. She knew my birth plan and was unwavering in bringing it to fruition. When things needed to change, she was there, assuring me that I was being well taken care of. She was by my side when I threw up during transition, she spooned me peanut butter before I pushed, and she had water & snacks ready for me afterwards. She was the one who noticed my baby was rooting to nurse and got a support pillow for my arm. She held my baby while my husband prepared for skin to skin when I

couldn't. Afterwards, she checked in with me consistently and a few days later sat at the edge of my bed debriefing and advising. Basically, she went above and beyond to be the support I needed in a new and scary time. Everyone needs a Tarissa at their birth!
